Effective October 1st, 2026, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has increased the fee for fingerprint-based criminal history record checks by $3.00. Therefore, the total for criminal history record checks will increase from $40.00 to $43.00. This will also change the total for a new registration application from $85.00 to $88.00.
With this fee change ND BCI has updated the page 2 application form. The page 1 application form will also be updated to reflect the change in fees. Effective immediately use the new form that is on the Board's website and the new fee structure.
If agencies/applicants have submitted an application to the Board with the old page 2 application form, the Board will work with agencies/applicant’s via email to update these applications with the current form.
The 2026 renewal application has been posted to the Board’s website.
Armed officers/investigators may start annual qualifications as of today’s date.
